Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

In order to meet the needs of all of our patients, we ask that you give us a call if you are unable to keep your appointment with the doctor, and we will gladly help you reschedule for a later date.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Vaccination Policy

For the  health & safety of all animals in our care, we require that all vaccinations be up to date.  Dogs must be vaccinated for Distemper/Parvo (aka DHLPP or DA2PP), Bordetella (aka Kennel Cough), Influenza & Rabies. Cats must be vaccinated for Distemper (aka FVRCP), and Rabies.

 Estimates and Deposits

Animal Wellness Center will provide you with a written estimate should your pet need to be hospitalized with us. The estimate is not a guarantee of the amount of the final invoice, and the estimate amount could change as the doctor makes further recommendations. We will attempt to notify you if the charges will exceed the estimate amount and provide you with a revised estimate. You will be required to leave a deposit, prior to admitting your pet to the hospital, and the balance is due in full at the time your pet is discharged from the hospital.

Prescription Medication Policy

In accordance with State and Federal law, certain medications may not be dispensed to your pet without an examination by our doctor at least once a year.  Also, the doctor may require certain tests to be performed before any medication can be filled. Because of tampering with medication, Federal Law prohibits returning any prescription medications for any reason once they have left the building.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Care Credit.  We do not accept personal or business checks. Animal Wellness Center does not provide payment plans or billing options. There is a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% per year) on accounts with a balance due.
